Some people find great joy in adopting dogs with special needs. A woman named Liona is of those people. Here is the story of how she took care of one special needs dog after another.
Liona used to foster a special-needs dog named Tyrus. Eventually, he passed away, and she was struck with grief. She prayed, hoping to meet another dog like him.
One day her prayers were answered. She met another special needs dog named Teddy. Liona wanted to cry when she first saw him. She had never seen any dog like him before and thought he was absolutely perfect.
Teddy was born with a condition called spina bifida. As a result, he has no hind legs and needs to wear diapers all the time. Aside from that, there’s nothing else that bothers him.
During the first few weeks inside Liona’s home, Teddy was so quiet. It took him a month before he could show his true personality. But, once he did, he was a fluffy ball of muscle and confidence.
Liona likes to say that Teddy has different versions of himself every day. There is a maniac version and a wild version of him which is when he barks all the time. There is also the sleepy version of him which is more common than the other two.
Liona bought teddy some wheels so he could move better. The added mobility allowed her to take Teddy wherever she goes. He also loves being with her regardless of the place.
Teddy has a lot of hobbies. Sometimes he reads tarot cards with Liona. Sometimes he hangs out on the balcony while observing passersby. If he’s not doing that, he just rolls around and enjoys being silly.
Liona believes that Teddy was a gift send to her by Tyrus. To her, Teddy is everything. She accepts him and everything that he is.
