Cairo is an adorable little Shiba Inu who loves putting his paws on his dad, Eric, whenever he wants attention. However, pawing at his favorite person eventually ceases once he realizes that whining loudly as soon as he feels that he is not receiving enough love gets him what he wants.
Eric realizes that Cairo is feeling bored at home, so he starts entertaining the idea of getting a cat as his dog’s new friend. He eventually gives in and brings home a handsome British Shorthair kitty, Sultan.
Eric shares that he split his apartment space in half so each of his pets would have their own separate spaces but were unable to see and smell each other from a safe distance. He recalls that Sultan was naturally curious and began exploring and playing with his toys from the get-go.
On the other hand, Cairo was intrigued, confused, and felt standoffish towards Sultan. Eric recalled that Cairo would look at Sultan from the other side of the fence like he was still making his mind about him.
Eric reveals that he just had to be patient and take things slow with Cairo and Sultan because it was clear that their guards were still up after their first week together. He shared that Cairo and Sultan wanted his attention despite feeling iffy whenever the other was around, so he sat down on the floor to pet his dog with one hand and his cat on the other.
Friends Become Closer
Cairo and Sultan eventually grew accustomed to their little set up on the floor, and it helped them become closer to one another. Eric shared that he knew everything was going to work out when he saw Cairo gently poking his nose at Sultan, and the two became best friends.
