Rescue Pittie Who Was Afraid Of Men:
Cucumber suffered from emaciation and had some cuts and scrapes when she was first rescued by animal control in Puerto Rico. The poor pit bull was close to death due to exhaustion and hunger. However, she was lucky to be found right on the hour of her greatest need.
A woman named Lindsey Galoomb came across Cucumber’s rescue video on Facebook. She instantly fell in love with the emaciated pit bull. Lindsey waited for Cucumber to recover until she was healthy enough to be flown into California.
Lindsey admitted that she felt nervous before meeting Cucumber, but all her nervousness went away when she looked into the dog’s eyes for the first time in real life. She recalled walking Cucumber through the whole house as soon as they got home from the airport. Cucumber happily smelled every nook and cranny.
Cucumber realized that she was safe because she instantly fell asleep afterward. Lindsey shared that Cucumber decompressed for two whole weeks. Cucumber did nothing but sleep for most of the time since she had a rough start in life.
Cucumber looked so excited to be in a home, be petted, and given love. However, Cucumber’s nervousness towards men appeared when Lindsey introduced her fiance, Matt Goyne, to her dog.
Lindsey eventually realized that Cucumber must have suffered a lot in the hands of men because her entire body would shake in fear whenever Matt was around. Matt wanted to earn Cucumber’s trust a lot, so he spent most of his time petting and reassuring her that he would never hurt her.
Cucumber eventually felt safe being around Matt, that she would immediately bury her face in his arms whenever she sees him. Lindsey shared that Cucumber and Matt became inseparable, which warmed her heart so much since she did not expect that to really happen at all.
