While dogs are considered great at almost everything humans tell them to do, they are also easily distracted. There’s always a flip side to everything. This German Shorthaired Pointer named Walle can relate. He’s a hunting dog, so his energy is always all over the place. This pet could go on running the whole day, and he’d come home happy.
On this day, Walle and his brother Zazu accompanied mom for a walk. They’re mom’s bodyguards every day, and they love every single minute of it.
The abundance of trees, the sounds of birds, and the many squirrels that darted off made this trail an ideal one for this family. Mom and Zazu love the chill vibe of it all.
In German Shorthaired Pointer fashion, Walle, on the other hand, wanted more action. He’d run off until mom couldn’t see him anymore, and he would go on and on if not for mom’s calls.
One particular moment had mom calling Walle, but she had to holler twice before he came running around a bend. The energetic pet skidded to a stop, and he knew what was coming.
Mom didn’t like that she had to yell at her spotted pet twice. Because Walle didn’t immediately obey her, she withheld his treat. While she scolded him for not obeying immediately, he got distracted.
The incredulous mom immediately snapped her pet’s attention back to her. To make sure Walle was still listening, mom asked her dog to give her a paw.
Walle immediately complied, letting mom know that she had his attention. The lady owner repeated this several times before she decided she should still give her pet some treats.
Mom held her hand out and asked Walle to stay, and he obeyed. He didn’t eat the snacks in mom’s hands until she gave the go signal. Good boy, Walle. Try to pay attention from now on, hear?
